New Sizes Added to North American Dunlop Range

Date: 2nd October 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

In the US Goodyear reports that the list of Dunlop Signature fitments has been boosted by 11 new sizes this autumn, along with four additional choices in the brand’s SP Winter Sport 3D line. The Dunlop Signature, an all-season touring tyre for standard and luxury passenger cars, with equal focus on enhanced handling and a quiet, comfortable ride, has added 235/55R17 and 215/60R17 sizes.

In Dunlop’s SP Sport Signature line are these size additions: 225/50R16, 215/45R17, 215/50R17, 235/50R17, 235/55R17, 235/40R18, 225/45R18, 235/50R18 and 255/35R20. Of the new sizes, five are ‘W’ speed-rated, and one is ‘Y’-rated. The SP Sport Signature is known for its wet performance and dry performance sectors, comments Goodyear, which enables the tyre to deliver performance on two different levels. Located inboard, the wet performance sector features Dunlop’s Hydro-Paddle Technology, a feature that helps pump water through a narrow channel and away from the tyre. The SP Sport Signature’s dry performance sector uses a solid shoulder area for enhanced dry handling, straight sipes for a stiff solid contact surface and a solid centre rib for enhanced road feedback for stability and driving confidence.

OE-approved for use on many vehicles, the Dunlop SP winter sport 3D is available in these new high-demand sizes: 285/35R18, 235/40R18, 295/30R19 and 235/35R19. The added sizes correspond with high-performance cars such as the Audi R8, Acura TL, Porsche 911 Carrera and Volkswagen Eos VR6.
