Bridgestone Bandag Expands FS560 Plus Range

Date: 7th August 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

In the US, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions is introducing six new sizes to its range of Firestone FS560 Plus steer tyres. Fleets operating in short-haul or urban applications now have numerous new size options to choose from, including 9R22.5 and 10R22.5 in “F” load ranges, 10R22.5 in “G” load range, and 255/70R22.5, 275/70R22.5 and 215/75R17.5 low profile sizes all in “H” load ranges. The 215/75R17.5 size will be available in the fourth quarter; all other sizes have already been released.

The Firestone FS560 Plus has a deep tread for long original mileage, says Bridgestone Bandag, with a solid shoulder design to help fight the turning and manoeuvring scrub forces that short haul and urban usage inflicts on tyres. Multiple cross-rib sipes and wide, deep “flow-through” grooves evacuate water from the footprint for better traction, even on rain-slick city streets. For superior retreadability, the FS560 Plus comes with four full steel belts, an all-steel casing ply, and a special, two-layer tread that combines a slow-wearing top compound with a layer beneath that helps insulate the casing from damaging heat.
