Solus Masterlease Agreement For Kwik-Fit Fleet

Date: 7th January 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Effective 1st January, Kwik-Fit Fleet has won a solus multi-million pound contract to supply a range of fast-fit services, including tyre repair, replacement and management, to Masterlease. The previous fast-fit agreement was with a number of suppliers, including Kwik-Fit Fleet.

Masterlease is one of the UK’s largest leasing and fleet management specialists with more than 100,000 cars and vans on its books and the company will benefit from Kwik-Fit Fleet’s new web-based ‘intelligent’ tyre management authorisation and reporting system, which is being rolled out to Britain’s biggest fleet operators.

For the past decade Kwik-Fit Fleet’s tyre management programme has been utilised by some of Britain’s biggest outright purchase fleets and leasing companies to control their tyre maintenance spend.

Details of all transactions are logged and information on tread depths of tyres removed, brands and size of tyres fitted, mileage of vehicle at time of replacement and the reason for tyre replacement are all captured by Kwik Fit on behalf of customers.

The new web-based system will continue to provide all that information. However, the new system will allow Kwik-Fit Fleet to communicate directly with its centres and mobile tyre fitting vehicle fleet.

Masterlease can build its own tyre fitting rules into the programme, which can also accommodate specific rules applicable to individual end-user fleet customers.

A further factor that helped Kwik-Fit Fleet clinch the new contract was its four UK state-of-the-art training academies where apprentices, fitters and specialist technicians undertake courses. Earlier this year Masterlease staff visited the Derby Training Academy for the first time to gain a first-hand insight into the training undertaken by Kwik-Fit’s centre fitters and mobile technicians.

Peter Tatlock, managing director of Masterlease, said: “Masterlease and Kwik Fit already had a strong relationship and we are now building on these solid foundations. We are excited about the new sole supply agreement and we look forward to working with Kwik Fit to ensure that we provide an excellent service to our customers.”
