Sibur Presents TyRex Agro and VL

Date: 4th January 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

During Agritechnica at the end of 2007 Sibur Russian Tyres (SRT), presented a range of products from its TyRex Agro and VL lines, not to mention its TyRex all-steel truck tyre offering. TyRex Agro is a new brand from SRT and, according to the manufacturer, represents a range of “highly-professional progressive environmental-friendly tyres for both foreign and Russian tractors, harvesters, field engines, seeding- and spraying machines.”

Sibur Russian Tyres’ top-management established a subsidiary in Germany in July 2007. And it was this new subsidiary that took the lead role in exhibiting Sibur brand tyres at Agritechnica. Oleg Kataev, the head of Sibur – Reifen, the Berlin, Germany subsidiary’s official name, commented: “Participation in the world’s leading exhibitions such as DLG Agritechnica’07 is essential for effective promotion of our tyres to foreign markets. Agritechnica’s visitors were provided with all necessary information about our agricultural and commercial vehicle tyres. We conducted a range of talks with potential partners that would lead to strengthening our positions at European market.”

Sibur – Russian Tyres (SRT) describes itself as “the main tyre supplier for agricultural machinery in Russia,” one of the largest agricultural countries in the wider European area. According to company literatures, SRT’s domestic market share in OTR tyre production totals some 60 per cent. SRT also views itself as the leading tyre company in Russia, and explains that “over 35 per cent of all tyres made in Russia are produced by SRT’s plants.” The company produces the wide range of tyres – over 400 products in passenger car, light-truck, truck, OTR, aircraft and agricultural segments. Official 2006 financial results show that the company increased its consolidated revenue by 24 per cent, from US$663 million in 2005 up to US$820 million in full-year 2006 calculations.
