Double Coin to Open New Truck Tyre Factory

A report printed in a motor industry publication indicates that Double Coin Holdings Co. plans to open a new truck tyre factory in the final quarter of 2008. According to Automotive News, the facility to be build in Chongqing, China, will be able to produce 2.5 million truck radials per year, increasing the company’s annual truck tyre capacity to around 7 million units.

Double Coin has neither confirmed nor denied whether the company has plans to produce passenger car tyres at the facility. When asked this question, company spokesperson Sun Wen simply told Automotive News “it depends on the market.”
