Advanced ID Gain 3rd Annual Nascar RFID Contract

Date: 3rd October 2007 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Advanced ID Corporation, a leading developer of RFID for supply chain applications focusing on the tyre management industry, has sealed its third annual supply contract with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to provide the RFID tags embedded in all the racing tyres used in the 2008 Nascar season.

Advanced ID has worked with Goodyear for more than two years to develop an RFID tag that meets the challenging requirements of Nascar racing and the Goodyear Racing Eagle and Wrangler tyres used throughout the 2006 and 2007 Nascar seasons which have had embedded Advanced ID tyre tags.

According to the companies, Nascar is the number one spectator sport, holds 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the US, is the number two rated regular-season sport on television with broadcasts in over 150 countries, and boasts 75 million fans.

Commenting on the continued market acceptance of RFID tyre tags, Dan Finch, President and CEO of Advanced ID, said: “We are pleased that Goodyear has chosen Advanced ID to supply their Nascar RFID tyre tags for the third consecutive year. Our manufacturing partner, the Hana Microelectronics Group, and Advanced ID are committed to supporting the Goodyear Nascar requirements in serving the tyre manufacturing industry as RFID tyre tags are deployed throughout the world. Goodyear has been very supportive in the development of the tyre tag. This order is instrumental in the overall goal we announced to become the world leader in the tyre tag industry.

“In addition to the Goodyear orders, we have several new distributors around the world, including Rema and Kit Loong, which have been previously announced. We have over 20 countries in different phases of testing and implementation, which represent the next stages of growth for our tyre tags. We also have several manufacturers that are now using our Pneu-Logic tools around the world. With the combined marketing efforts of our TireTrac tags and the Pneu-Logic tools, we are well positioned as the dominant worldwide RFID tyre business marketing company.”
