Maxxis Extends its Sponsorship of Drifting

Date: 10th April 2007 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

As part of a program to expand its support of drifting in the USA, Maxxis has announced it will sponsor the NM Drift Group and the inaugural NOPI Professional Drift Series in 2007. NM Drift Group drivers Ben Reyes and Gary Lang, who is also the team owner, will compete in the Formula D, NOPI Drift, Formula D Pro-Am, Drift Fury and D1 series this year, having put together several top ten finishes in 2006.

Their Nissan 240 SX cars will sport Maxxis MA-Z1 Victra drifting tyres, which are designed to deliver the outstanding traction, cornering and handling that really counts in professional drifting competition, and the drivers will have the tyremaker’s support behind them. “We are dedicated to providing amazing opportunities for drifters at the NOPI Professional Drift Series and through our contingency support for any driver that takes advantage of our high quality performance tyres we expect to see new champions rise to the top,” said James Mason, Marketing Coordinator for Maxxis’s automotive department.

Maxxis MA-Z1 high performance tyres are available in the UK exclusively through Group Tyre UK Ltd.
