ACCC Plans Support of NTSW

Date: 2nd April 2007 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

(Akron/Tire Review) American Car Care Centers said it will again “actively support” the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s annual National Tire Safety Week. The sixth National Tire Safety Week is slated for Apr. 22-28.

The annual event is part of RMA’s “Be Tire Smart – Play Your PART” program, launched in the aftermath of the Ford-Firestone tire recalls in 2000. NTSW gives tyre retailers an opportunity to communicate with customers about the importance tyre maintenance plays in vehicle and highway safety.

ACCC has some 1,120 member dealers across the U.S.

“We encourage our ACCC members to participate each year because the program gives them all the tools to set up a local promotion,” said Dave Crawford, ACCC’s director of marketing. “We order the material for the dealers to make it easy, and if promoted properly at the local level, the dealer can run a tyre safety day at their location and attract consumers into their stores for a minimal cost, and help to build awareness when people need to get their tyres replaced.”
