Goodyear Announces Another Closure

Having already committed itself to closing plants in the US, Canada, UK and New Zealand, Goodyear tire & Rubber Co has announced its intention to close its manufacturing facility in Casablanca, Morocco, by the end of 2007. Approximately 150 jobs will be cut as a result of the closure.

Goodyear’s decision to close the Casablanca plant is related to the company’s decision to liquidate Goodyear Maroc S.A, the company’s Moroccan operating identity. is likely to save US$10 million a year as a result of this closure.
