Van den Ban’s Winter Tyres

Date: 14th August 2006 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

As the winter tyre season approaches Europe once again it is important to note that some European countries encounter harsher wintry driving conditions than others. However Van den Ban’s extensive selection of winter tyres is capable of meeting the challenge from comparatively mild to severe road surfaces.

As a well established international tyre wholesaler, Netherlands based Van den Ban (VDB) offers its Flamingo Alaska private brand range (manufactured by an established European premium brand manufacturer) and incorporates a modern and visually attractive tread pattern plus excellent grip for all winter conditions by the implementation of a silica based rubber compound which is available in a wide range of size options from 145/80 R13 75T up to 205/55 R16 91H.

Van den Ban is able to compliment the Flamingo range with a second and equally popular range in the Federal Himalaya WS1 winter tyre for which the company holds exclusive distribution rights for most of Europe. The Himalaya WS1 is available in 12 size options ranging from 175/65R 14 right through to 225/45 HR17 and this tyre incorporates V-shaped longitudinal pattern grooves which provide good resistance to aquaplaning for increased stability and road handling in difficult winter conditions.

Market leaders

At the same time and equally important is Van den Ban’s ability to provide a very versatile collection of established ‘A’ brands including Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli and Vredestein to ensure that when it comes to winter tyres at a competitive price Van den Ban are one of the market leaders in Europe.

With the recent announcement that work will commence this year on the building of a new state-of-the-art office and warehouse terminal complex in Hellevoetsluis, to be completed by early 2008. Van den Ban prides itself on providing the ultimate tyre distribution service with managing director, Frans van Lenten stating: “VDB’s prime objective as always is to be recognised by the industry as a ‘total tyre supplier’ offering reliability and availability within a very progressive customer service package covering the entire tyre sectors that VDB compete in, through our highly professional and enthusiastic multi-lingual sales team.”
