Stamford Tires US to Relocate, Open New DC

Date: 6th July 2006 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

(Akron/Tire Review) Stamford Tires & Wheels Inc. is relocating its corporate headquarters from Medley, Florida, to Charlotte, N.C., and is building its second U.S. distribution center in Charlotte. No timetable was given for completion of the planned 80,000-square-foot warehouse and headquarters facility.

“We are building a home in the U.S. for our corporate brands of Sumo tires and SSW alloy wheels,” said Jim Seidel, Stamford’s vice president and COO.

Stamford said it chose Charlotte for its second distribution centre because of its “strategic location” relative to its present Miami warehouse.

“With the new Charlotte distribution centre, we are now able to effectively service tyre and wheel dealers from Miami to New York and most cities east of the Mississippi River with one-day delivery service,” said Seidel.
