TIA Launching Global Earthmover Tyre Training Programme

Date: 28th February 2006 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

(Akron/Tire Review) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has partnered with Australia’s Klinge & Co. Pty Ltd. to develop an earthmover tyre technician training and certification programme. The deal was announced at TIA’s recent OTR Tire Conference.

“We couldn’t be happier to partner with Klinge & Co to create the new Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) Program,” said TIA President Bob Malerba. “Our strategic plan includes the goal to become the worldwide leader in technician education and we believe the release of the ETS Program will help us achieve that goal. By partnering with Klinge, we’ll be able to shorten the time to release the Basic ETS and Certified ETS Programs.”

The hook-up with Kling & Co. will also bring the resulting ETS training program to OTR tire operations around the globe, said Malerba. Klinge & Co. will serve as the sole international distributor of the programme.

TIA expects to complete the Basic ETS component of the training program by the end of the year.
