Mike Wise to Head Up Kwik-Fit Fleet European Expansion

Date: 12th January 2006 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Mike Wise has been appointed Kwik-Fit Fleet’s first dedicated European fleet chief as the company plans to accelerate its European expansion. This will involve opening more centres and identifying pan-European fleets, totalling two million vehicles in all, with who the company plans to expand and develop its business partnerships.

Mr. Wise will retain overall management and strategic responsibility for the UK fleet market, but day-to-day handling will be managed by Nigel Davies, who has been at Kwik-Fit for 12 years and who has been promoted to UK fleet sales director from his previous post of director of corporate accounts.

In the UK, Kwik-Fit has 669 centres and 206 mobile units. In mainland Europe, the group owns Kwik-Fit Netherlands (176 centres and four mobiles), Speedy in France (362 centres, 156 franchises and 10 mobiles) and Pit-Stop in Germany (more than 350 centres). The company also has 32 distribution outlets in The Netherlands operated by USN Centuri. This year, the group plans to open a number of new centres, focusing on Germany, where 35 new outlets are planned.

Mike Wise will look for continued centre growth in Kwik-Fit’s existing markets and he expects the company to enter other European markets as demand dictates. “It is not inconceivable that the Kwik-Fit group could have 5,000 outlets across Europe in the future, including outlets in some of the new European Union member states,” he said.
