Dunlop Teams Up With Evoactive

Date: 6th January 2006 Author: Admin Comments: 0

As part of Dunlop’s commitment to a major investment in UK motorsport it has continued to develop its successful partnership with EvoActive, one of the UK’s highest profile trackday operators, into 2006.

On the Friday of each ‘Great and British’ racing festival EvoActive will run a trackday providing enthusiasts with the ultimate circuit weekend experience. The EvoActive events will be run in sessions to allow drivers with similar experience levels to share the track together. There will be extra tuition available for novice circuit drivers from some of the most highly qualified instructors in the UK, making Evoactive events available to all, regardless of ability.

The Great and British Dunlop Motorsport Festivals are backed by a major marketing programme to broaden the appeal of national motorsport and introduce new spectators to the sport. Four of the UK’s biggest racing championships will compete at each event; the John Cooper Mini Challenge, the Avo Ginetta Championship, the Radical Biduro championship and the Radical Enduro championship, all of which is backed up by the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC). There will be comprehensive satellite TV coverage of each round, pre-event publicity nationally and locally, plus plenty off-track activities for the whole family become involved in. These include motorshows, car club displays and general public lapping sessions.

EvoActive manager, Roger Green said: “It’s fantastic to be able to build on our relationship with Dunlop and once again bring something new to the trackday scene. These Fridays will be so much more than a traditional trackday, where you get nothing more than the track time itself. EvoActive events will be competitively priced action-packed days out with passenger rides, Dunlop hospitality, off-track activities, a tyre fitting service and free weekend race tickets. And all that is in addition to the quality track time, top-level instruction and specialist novice days that we have built our reputation on.”

James Bailey, head of corporate communications for Dunlop’s parent company, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd explained how it fits into the race package: “The Great and British Motorsport Festivals have been designed to appeal to both spectators and competitors alike and offering a trackday on the Friday is another new initiative to help us achieve that. For the racers there is testing on a Saturday morning and now they also have the option to entertain sponsors and guests on the Friday, while there will be opportunities for further public lapping through the weekend itself. Great and British is more than just a raceday to watch, it is a chance for the public to get on track too”.
