Stamford Names Seidel to Head NA Effort

Date: 12th October 2005 Author: Admin Comments: 0

(Akron/Tire Review) Former Continental Tire North America executive Jim Seidel has been named vice president and chief operating officer Stamford Tires & Wheels Inc a North American subsidiary of Singapore-based tyremaker Stamford Tyres Corp Ltd.

Stamford manufactures passenger, light truck/SUV and commercial truck tyres under the Sumo and Firenza brand names, and alloy wheels under its Stamford Sport Wheels Co. subsidiary. Seidel will be responsible for the sales organization and the company’s research, product development, manufacturing and logistics for Stanford’s North American commercial tire business. Most recently, Seidel was director of dealer sales for CTNA.

Wee Kok Wah, president of Stamford Tyres, said: “We have been trying to identify a person for our North America operations. One who could focus on building the company’s tyre business unit while continuing the progress made by our alloy wheels business unit. Jim has a keen business sense and a positive and constructive way of working with associates, dealers, fleets and community leaders.”
