B2B E-Commerce not a Revolutionary Subject for Michelin

Date: 7th December 2000 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Michelin believes that the automobile industry will not be able to achieve better purchase prices by changing its traditional method of purchasing to internet auctions. The management is convinced of this due to the fact that it sees no room for manoeuvre. As the management said to analysts yesterday in Paris, the expected price increases for raw materials could be more than compensated for by growing quantities.

Furthermore Michelin calculates for 2000 a growth of at least 4 p.c. compared to the previous year and an operating profit of around 10% of turnover.
