Study: All-season 4% of UK tyre sales in 2016

According to a study carried out for Kumho Tire, sales of all-season tyres in the UK are only a little over half the European average. Kumho contracted market research institute GfK to look at all-season tyre sales in ten European countries; GfK found that four per cent of tyre buyers in the UK opted for all-season products.

The average percentage of all-season tyre purchases for the ten European markets GfK investigated – Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and the UK – was seven per cent. The most enthusiastic all-season buyers were found in Germany and the Netherlands, where these products accounted for 14 per cent of all tyre purchases. At the other end of the scale, all-season tyres failed to gain traction in Austria, where they made up only two per cent of tyre sales.
