B&J Rocket puts an end to heavy blade packaging

B&J Rocket says it always has an eye on the legal requirements that exist in different countries regarding workplace health and safety. In order to better meet these regulations, the company has changed its buffing blade packaging unit and decreased the weight of its packaging boxes by 10 kilogrammes. Boxes containing 30 sets (formerly 50 sets/25 kg) now weigh only 15 kilogrammes and are thus much better suited to the actual load limits applied to the lifting and carrying of occasional loads.

The reduced weight of its packaging, says B&J Rocket, protects the backs of its customers’ employees as well as those who deliver the buffing blades. In addition, the company opines that the lower number of blade sets per box “allows for a more flexible purchase of goods and optimises storage due to a more compact packaging.”

B&J Rocket will roll out the new pack sizes by spring 2018: As its own stocks of 50 set boxes and those at its dealers are destocked, they will be substituted by 30 set packs.

While consumers have become wary of price increases lurking behind changes to packaging, Andreas Müller, president of B&J Rocket, assures customers that this isn’t the case: “Our price structure remains unchanged, as we charge for each blade rate and not per box.” He adds: “This measure is the legal upper limit for workplace health regulations.” In addition, Müller is convinced that the change will be quickly accepted by long-term customers and end-users.
