Dunlop extends BMW M235i Racing Cup partnership

Dunlop has extended its partnership with the BMW M235i Racing Cup, described by product manager Dunlop Motorsport EMEA, Alexander Kühn as “the perfect entry point into the VLN.” The Cup began in 2014 and regularly features more than 20 cars battling in the most heavily occupied and extremely competitive class in the VLN and the 24h race on the Nurburgring. All BMW M235i Racing cars have competed for four consecutive seasons on the toughest race track of the world, racing exclusively on Dunlop racing tyres in the dimension 265/660 R18.

“We are delighted that the successful partnership with BMW Motorsport has also been extended into next year,” says Kühn. “For 2018, the BMW M235i Racing Cup offers the perfect entry point into the VLN. The races are always extremely exciting, and the races are often won by small margins.”

Dunlop’s racing tyre has been tuned for the BMW M235i Racing on the demanding Nordschleife and offers a wide performance window which gives confidence to experienced drivers and motorsport beginners alike.

BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt added: “We are happy to confirm another successful year shared with the drivers, teams and our long-term tyre partner Dunlop.”

Dunlop states that it is the most successful tyre manufacturer in the history of the Nurburgring 24h race. It added the overall 24h victory to a successful 2017 endurance racing campaign; prototype and GT victories in the Le Mans 24h race this summer were also recorded on Dunlop tyres.
