Agritechnica launch for first Continental agricultural tyres

The initial two products in the reborn Continental agricultural tyre portfolio will debut at the Agritechnica show this November. The radial Tractor70 and Tractor85 ranges share the same design; Continental comments that both are “characterised by their robustness and durability” and “ensure a high degree of ride comfort and tractive force.”

“Just like with all Continental products for the agricultural industry, the priority during development of the new tyres was to increase efficiency,” adds Nikolai Setzer, head of Continental’s Tire business. “They are designed to systematically enhance the productivity of the machine in use along with the quality of its work on a sustained basis.”

The casing for the Tractor70 and Tractor85 is made of a stretchable nylon that, according to Continental, gives the tyres “exceptional dimensional stability and impact strength.” The use of a bead technology featuring a single wire bead also speeds up tyre mounting. This bead design also allows the tyres to operate at a low air pressure, thereby reducing soil compaction.

Continental intends to expand its agricultural tyre portfolio to 100 sizes by 2019.
