Vredestein Quatrac 5 all-season tyre shows ‘lasting quality’

Having presented its first all-season tyre 20 years ago, the Vredestein brand has more experience than most manufacturer in supplying this segment. Its portfolio includes a comprehensive range of car as well as light commercial vehicles, and as a result of this experience, Apollo Vredestein states that its technologically-advanced solutions are particularly well suited to the UK climate.

Vredestein’s all-season range is led by the award-winning Quatrac 5. In all safety-related aspects of the test, the Vredestein Quatrac 5 achieved outstanding results, with particularly impressive performance on snow. Introduced in 2014, the current generation Vredestein Quatrac 5 is available up to and including speed index Y, making it suitable for speeds up to 300 km/h, which the manufacturer states is unique in the segment. Vredestein adds that the tyre is well positioned for car fleets, as discerning customers look to capitalise on all-season abilities in order to avoid changing from summer to winter tyres.

For light truck and van fleets, as well as private owners, Vredestein also announced the launch of the Comtrac 2, designed for safety and comfort in all weather conditions whilst carrying heavy loads. The tyre features open lateral shoulder grooves and wider longitudinal grooves to optimise water dispersion; improved shape of footprint and new silica compound for better grip on wet roads and lower rolling resistance to reduce fuel consumption; increased tread stiffness; and new sipe design for more balanced pressure distribution and reduced deformation under load.
