Midwest continues local football support

Automotive parts distributor Midwest Motor Factors is sponsoring local football team, Bilston Town F.C, nicknamed ‘Steel Men’, for the second year in a row in the 2017/18 West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.

Midwest is very much involved in the local community and with the ground within 200 yards of its Bilston branch, it is proud to encourage community spirit and back the team once again.

The sponsorship will throw Midwest into the spotlight and offer fantastic promotional opportunities for the motor factor as the Midwest branding will be displayed throughout the ground and its logo will be the main shirt sponsor of Bilston’s kit.

The team itself is on the rise after a significant sum was recently invested into a complete renovation for the ground, improving seating conditions for fans and the barriers surrounding the pitch. The training facility and apprentice programme has also been enhanced to ensure youngsters within the community have access to secure, certified qualifications within the sport.

As a result of the club’s continued hard work to develop opportunities within the community, it has recently been presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.

Craig McCracken, group factor manager, said: “It was great to get behind the local community and show our support last year and we look forward to doing it all over again this season. We share the same values as the club and the sponsorship highlights our dedication to developing Bilston even further and we hope it will help to drive more business into the region.”

The club’s ground currently holds 1000 fans and has a firm philosophy that focuses on bringing in young players, offering them a chance to progress at the early stage of their career.

Graham Hodson of Bilston Town FC, said: “We’re delighted to receive Midwest’s backing again and can’t wait for the season to get underway. Our determination to develop the next generation runs through the club’s veins and the recent recognition for our voluntary work emphasises our hard work and commitment to ensuring the Bilston youth can access practical and promising opportunities.”

Midwest Motor Factors started in 1980 in Willenhall, West Midlands. Today, the company employs 80 staff and has more than 40 vans operating out of five branches across the West Midlands alongside the award winning Monmore Auto Parts branch, which is based in Wolverhampton.
