EATD on course with goals for Tianli agri tyre range

Starting small, European Agriculture Tyre Distributors B.V. aims to build up sales of the Tianli agricultural tyre range in Europe. The Netherlands-based wholesaler has set itself a target to sell 20,000 of these tyres this year, and reports being almost half way there by the end of June.

“With 9,700 tyres sold through our exclusive dealer network and to OEMS, we have only just failed to reach our sales target of 10,000 radial, forestry and OTR tyres in Europe,” shares Norbert Schwalen, EATD product and OEM manager in charge of the Tianli brand. “After all, that means 1,600 radial tyres sold every month – hard work, but we enjoy every single minute. You have to do a lot, and that is exactly what we do.”

Schwalen adds that “In the wake of the big players we are just a small fish – but everyone starts small. Our target for 2017 are 20,000 tyres sold. In time for Agritechnica in November at the latest, we should have reached that mark!”

Tianli tyres are manufactured by Tianjin United Tire & Rubber International Co., Ltd. (TUTRIC), a joint venture set up in 1985 by Chinese firm Tianjin and now-bankrupt Canadian tyre maker United Tire & Rubber. Production takes place today in a 32-hectare, US$350 million plant in that went into operation in the third quarter of 2015. TUTRIC currently produces 16- to 63-inch tyres for agricultural, forestry, industrial and construction applications, and intends to double its current range of more than 300 sizes over the coming two years.
