The Parts Alliance member BBC Superfactors has moved premises just a year after first opening in Preston. The new building boasts double the footprint at 10,000 square feet and has a full mezzanine too, boosting storage capacity to around 20,000 square feet.

The prime aim is simply to increase the depth and range of available stock, in order to meet rapidly growing demand from an ever-increasing customer base of local garages and workshops.

“We also needed space for tyres,” said managing director Gary Shulman. “We’re importing containers of tyres and the new unit has the facility to handle these bulk deliveries.”

Shulman says the branch is in the process of employing three additional staff to cater for the additional workload.

BBC Superfactors started in 1984, selling brake pads from a single site and has been expanding ever since. Today, the seven branch Lancashire motor factor’s head office is in Accrington with the other branches in Blackburn, Burnley, Chorley, Clitheroe – as well as Rawtenstall, which expanded its delivery fleet earlier this year.

“We now have 150 employees including 12 family members working with us,” said Shulman. “We’re excited to be moving to bigger premises in Preston so soon.”

Sales are running up significantly so far in 2017 and further enhancements are already planned for BBC Superfactors’ growing branch network.
