Hankook Tire has commented on its recognition as a General Motors Supplier of the Year. The company was one of five tyre makers to gain this distinction at the vehicle manufacturer’s 25th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony, which was held in Orlando, Florida at the end of March.

“Acknowledged by our partners, this award is an additional proof point which testifies to Hankook Tire’s technology leadership and premium quality,” said Seung Hwa Suh, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Hankook Tire. “We will continue to thrive as a global premium brand by providing innovative, top-quality tyres to our partners worldwide.”

GM recognised 118 of its best suppliers from 15 countries – suppliers that have consistently exceeded its expectations, created outstanding value or brought new innovations to the company. This year’s awards honoured the most suppliers since GM inaugurated the Supplier of the Year event in 1992. This is the first time Hankook has received the award

“Hankook is pleased to provide top-quality tyres for General Motors vehicles,” said Eric Shirley, Hankook Tire America’s director of original equipment sales. “We are honoured to receive this award as a reflection of our strong and growing relationship.”
