Tyrepac founder to head Point S Asia growth

Point S opens Asia office

Point S has opened an Asia office Singapore and appointed Ler Hwee Tiong as chief representative. The new Point S representative office is located within the French Chamber of Commerce in the city centre of Singapore and will coordinate activities within the Asian region. Point S push into Asia is expected to be “patient, and adapted to the local working environment of each market”.

The appointment of Ler Hwee Tiong (commonly referred to as Ler) is being seen a sign of the company’s intentions too. Ler brings with him more than 21 years in the tyre industry, held various key and executive roles in several large tyre companies, before venturing out in 2008 co-founding Asia’s first tyre ecommerce site, Tyrepac. Ler will consult and coordinate all of Point S activities in the Asia region, and assist in the further expansion of Point S beyond the recently announced Malaysia and India market.

“I am pleased to be associated with Point S’s development in Asia. The one and only truly global retailing group that I know – with presence in Canada, United States, throughout Europe, Africa, and now Asia. An impression achievement in a short 40 odd years, with combined revenue now in excess of 3 billion euro, and selling in excess of 16 million tyres annually in 32 countries, with more than 3400 retailing points”, says Ler Hwee Tiong.
