EU car market 11.2% up in March

March 2017 car registrations in the European Union reached 1,891,583 units in March 2017 according to figures published by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), continuing the upward trend seen in the first quarter of the year. Italy (+11.9 per cent), Spain (+7.9), Germany (+6.7), the United Kingdom (+6.2) and France (+4.8) all experienced strong market growth from January to March 2017, which demonstrates strong levels of consumer confidence, despite the political changes currently taking place across the EU.

“It is encouraging to see that the EU car market continues to recover in March, with an 11.2 per cent increase in EU passenger car registrations,” said Sue Robinson, director of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA). “The NFDA is pleased to see that the UK market continues to remain strong and stable alongside its European counterparts and we look forward to seeing this continue throughout the year.”
