Dr Peter Hendrik Kes (l) and René van Maasakkers shake on the new agreement
At last year’s IAA Commercial Vehicles show, Hankook Tire and trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull announced an extension of their partnership that included a plan to develop aftermarket trailer tyre business. This plan initially utilised the existing sales cooperation between the Schmitz Cargobull Service Partner network and German joint service partner, Pneunet to offer tyre service as well as a range of replacement Hankook trailer tyres that were developed in conjunction with the trailer manufacturer and bear the ‘Cargobull’ name on the sidewall. This arrangement how now been extended into the Benelux under a new agreement that makes Profile Tyrecenter Corporation (PTC) Schmitz Cargobull’s tyre service partner within the region.
Dr Peter Hendrik Kes, chief executive officer of Schmitz Cargobull Parts & Services GmbH, and René van Maasakkers, director of Profile Tyrecenter Europe, signed a contract covering this collaboration at the beginning of December. Cargobull tyres have been a part of the range available from the 150 or so Profile Tyrecenter truck outlets since January.
“After enjoying several years of successful partnership with PTC, a company with an outstanding reputation in the industry, we are now looking forward to working with the company to offer our customers even better service in future thanks to our exclusive Schmitz Cargobull tyres,” shares Kes.
“As the market leader for trailers and with an ever-growing number of service contracts, Schmitz Cargobull is an important strategic partner for us. Just like PTC, they believe in quality, premium performance and top customer service,” adds van Maasakkers.
Schmitz Cargobull AG’s portfolio currently includes more than 15,000 service contracts across Europe, covering the fields of tyres, trailers and refrigeration units. Profile Tyrecenter was founded in 1989 and operates a franchise concept in Benelux. It is the market leader for tyre service in Benelux, running 220 service stations that offer tyre services and, in some cases, full automotive services. Of these stations, 150 offer services for HGVs and trailers.
