ETD founder Marcus Reedijk retires, triggers succession transition

Marcus Reedijk has handed over his position as managing director of ETD to Sjeng van der Maarel as of November 2016

After 45 years in the tyre trade, European Tyre Distributors (ETD) founder and managing director, Marcus Reedijk has chosen to retire, triggering a transition phase in the leadership of the company,

According to the company, Reedijk will “slowly make the transition from his position as managing director towards a well-deserved retirement”. In practice Reedijk will stay involved in ETD in the future, but has handed over his position as managing director to Sjeng van der Maarel as of November 2016.

Referring to the appointment of Sjeng van der Maarel as managing director, the company said: “Sjeng has been a key player within ETD for the last year. Having worked in the tyre business for 17 years, Sjeng has the knowledge and ambition to continue to improve and expand European Tyre Distributors. He will guide ETD’s search for new markets and products with a continued focus on quality niche tyres. Sjeng will furthermore provide leadership in ETD’s goal of reaching an even higher level of customer satisfaction.”
