Close Brothers Group sponsors the 2016 Mission Motorsport Invitational

Close Brothers Group is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 2016 Mission Motorsport Invitational.

Now in its fourth year, the annual Mission Motorsport Invitational track day, held today at Goodwood, is a flagship ‘Experience’ racing event. It brings together 50 exceptional cars with 50 injured servicemen and women and their families. Cars are divided into pre-war, ’50s, ’60s and supercar groups, in addition to a special group including Ferraris and Aston Martins.

After enjoying their time on the track, ex-service personnel will have the chance to meet a cross-section of people including Close Brothers’ representatives. This provides the opportunity for those interested in the automotive industry to start building a network and a greater understanding of careers in the sector.

Mission Motorsport is a charity aimed at aiding the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through motorsports. Launched in 2012, the charity has helped over 850 ex-servicemen and women to develop new skills through training and direct vocational support, including mechanical competencies, logistics, and management.

Major James Cameron, CEO of Mission Motorsport Invitational, commented: “The Mission Motorsport Invitational is an event that has grown incredibly in scale and reach over the last four years and we are thrilled to celebrate our partnership this year with Close Brothers.”

“The Invitational isn’t just about cars, but rather very special individuals. Two extraordinary populations are brought together, to learn from each other, to understand, to find empathy and inspiration. It has led to opportunities, to practical support, to jobs, and it has also fostered friendships and lifelong bonds.”
