Tarja Kaipio has been appointed Nokian Tyres’ vice-president of human resources and a member of the company’s management team. She begins in her new position on 8 August and, reporting to president and chief executive officer Ari Lehtoranta, will be responsible for human resources functions at Nokian Tyres.
Kaipio joins Nokian Tyres from Metso Corporation, where she headed human resources within the EMEA region, global employment and change projects. Prior to this she held management positions in Posti Group and Nokia plc.
“Human resources has an important role in building the company’s success. Tarja has strong expertise in human resources management and change management in global listed companies. Her extensive experience in HR strategy planning and competency development in international settings supports our company’s growth and strategic goals,” says Ari Lehtoranta.
Current vice-president of human resources, Ville Nurmi, is taking up a position outside the company. “Nokian Tyres thanks Mr Nurmi for all his efforts toward the company and the personnel,” wrote the tyre maker in a statement.
