The NTDA has announced that Suzi Perry is to be the host of the 2016 Tyre Industry Awards. Suzi Perry is a popular and well-known television presenter, currently covering MotoGP for BT Sport. She is also known for covering MotoGP for the BBC for 13 years, The Gadget Show on Channel 5 for 9 years and the BBC’s Formula One coverage from 2013 to 2015.

A one-time model and journalist, Perry was the lead presenter for BBC coverage of MotoGP and The British Superbike Championship.

Her pedigree as a pit lane reporter brought about her first big break, on the celebrity biking show Ridge Riders. Suzi’s enthusiasm won over the producers, who then offered her a role on City Hospital.

Suzi has worked throughout the male-dominated motorsports arena, covering the World Superbike Series and F1 Grand Prix. She has also run amok on Treasure Hunt, presented mainstream shows like Lottery on the Spot, and co-hosted Superstars with Johnny Vaughan.

Other credits to Suzi’s sport portfolio are reporting from Wimbledon, the London Marathon, the 2004 Olympics, the Great North Run and the Boat Race. Suzi also enjoyed her role with the BBC as Fashion reporter from Royal Ascot for several years.

She has danced for Sport Relief and is a Patron for Promise Dreams, a National Charity which deals in providing dreams for seriously and terminally ill children as well as being an ambassador for UK Youth where she has hosted events ranging from a presentation to the inmates of Feltham Young Offenders Prison to hosting an evening at St James’s Palace where the Princess Royal was the Guest of Honour.

NTDA Director Stefan Hay said: “When it comes to cars, technical innovation and sport, Perry has to be one of the most recognisable and popular presenters on TV. We are very excited to have her host the 2016 Tyre Industry Awards and with over 500 people already booked for the event, are looking forward to another spectacular evening!”

The closing date to submit entries for the 2016 Tyre Industry Awards is Tuesday 2 August 2016.

At the end of last week, the NTDA announced that Penny Mallory will be keynote speaker at this year’s Tyre Industry Conference during the day of the Tyre Industry Awards evening.
