Conti veteran Klaus Fremenau is taking over from Phil Scanlon who was with Continental for 30 years
Continental Tyre Group Ltd has appointed a new passenger sales director to take over from Phil Scanlan, who retires from the company after 30 years.
Klaus Fremenau has been with Continental for 20 years, starting at Uniroyal after graduating with a university degree. He brings with him extensive experience, with previous roles at Continental Germany such as regional sales manager and his previous position as sales director for car dealer and fleet business.
Based at the German tyre manufacturer’s UK head office in West Drayton, Fremenau will have overall responsibility for profitable sales and account management of independent, regional, national and wholesale accounts in the UK and ROI. His passenger experience with all customer groups will prove of great value to the business.
“I am delighted to join Continental [Tyre Group] for 2016 as passenger sales director and really look forward to continuing the successes of my predecessor for Continental and its brands within the UK and Ireland”, Klaus Fremenau commented.
Klaus Fremenau is married and lives in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, travelling and running.
Phil Scanlan leaves Continental Tyre Group Ltd after 30 years of service in various roles. In his spare time, he will continue as the current Olympic Shooting team leader, himself a previous Commonwealth Games medallist and British Champion Rifle Shooter.
Continental Tyre Group Ltd managing director David Smith commented: “I look forward to working closely with Klaus through 2016 and wish him every success. At the same time I wish Phil the very best for his retirement and thank him for his significant contributions to the business.”
