Toyo Tire chairman Komaguchi becomes 2nd representative director

Toyo Tire & Rubber has decided to increase the number of company representative directors from one to two in order to strengthen its corporate governance system in light of group growth and expansion. Chairman Katsumi Komaguchi will therefore, as of 1 January 2016, become a representative director.

Company president Takashi Shimizu will continue in his current role as the other representative director, however at the start of next year he hand over the office of group executive officer, Tire Business to Koichi Ono, who in turn will relinquish the positions of director general manager, Tire Planning Division, general manager, North America Business Unit, and general manager of the Tire Business Group Headquarters. Ono has held these positions since 12 November 2015.
