Bridgestone’s Garfield to head RMA board

Gary Garfield

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) has elected Bridgestone Americas’ chief executive officer and president Gary Garfield the chairman of its Board of Directors. Garfield will serve for a two-year term and succeeds Pete Selleck, chairman and president of Michelin North America, who held the position of RMA board chairman since 2013.

“Gary will continue a trend of strong leadership as chairman of the RMA Board of Directors,” said Charles A. Cannon, RMA president and CEO. “RMA is well-served by an active, involved and decisive Board of Directors, and Gary’s tenure will no doubt continue that firm guidance for the association.”

“RMA is poised to enter a new era of growth as investments in the US by tyre manufacturers continue,” commented Gary Garfield. “Continued public policy challenges on environmental, safety advocacy and other matters will continue to be a focus of the association.”
