Uttenweiler steps down as First Stop regional MD

Dr. Uttenweiler has “decided to take on a new role outside the Bridgestone organisation”

Bridgestone Europe reports the departure of the managing director of its First Stop business in the German-speaking ‘DACH’ markets and Eastern Europe, Dr. Urban Uttenweiler. According to a statement released by Bridgestone, Uttenweiler has “decided to take on a new role outside the Bridgestone organisation.”

Dr. Uttenweiler served as the retail tyre dealer network’s managing director for the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region since June 2012, and picked up the additional Eastern Europe role in June 2014. Bridgestone describes him as having been a “key person within the European retail organisation” during the past three years, and it credits Uttenweiler with significantly raising First Stop’s competitiveness in the areas he was responsible for.

Frank Fuhrmann will take over Uttenweiler’s leadership role on an interim basis until 1 September and will report to Pat Curran, general manager Business Control Tower Retail.
