Apollo launches 100,000km tyre for Indian market

Apollo’s latest Indian market orientated tyre is not only designed to last 100,000km, but also comes with a two-year guarantee

On 22 July 2015 Apollo Tyres Apollo Amazer 4G Life, especially for the Indian market. Its unique selling points? The tyre has been developed jointly by the company’s global R&D centres in Chennai, India and the Netherlands and offer customers the promise of 100,000kms of wear and beyond.

According to the company, the T-rated Apollo Amazer 4G Life is also being offered with two years unconditional warranty and will be available in five sizes initially. The tyres will be sold through Apollo Zones/Points, the company’s branded outlets, and other selected dealers.

The Apollo Amazer 4G Life is aimed at compact and mid segment cars like the Maruti Swift & Dzire, Tata Indigo, Toyota Etios, Honda City & Amaze, Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Honda Mobilio.

Speaking about the new tyre, Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, Apollo Tyres Ltd said: “This tyre is a result of an intensive market study done by our internal team in the past 2-3 years to assess the gap in the tyres available in the market. This product gap, along with feedback from the customers, was utilised by our R&D team to develop this technologically advanced tyre, with superior longevity, especially for the Indian road conditions. Our controlled test results have proven that the tyre can go up to 100,000 kms and beyond.”

Apollo Tyres reportedly enjoys a 17 per cent share of the replacement market and around 21 per cent share of the OE segment in India in the passenger car tyre category.
