Giti Tire makes two East European appointments

Ivo Yonov is the manufacturer’s new business development manager - south east in the region

Giti Tire has appointed Ivo Yonov as business development manager – south east and Andrzej Paczkowski as marketing and retail development manager, strengthening its East European operation.

Covering GT Radial, Primewell and Runway, Yonov will be responsible for creating long-term partnerships with distributors and fleets to increase sales of passenger car, 4×4, SUV, light and heavy truck tyres throughout Bulgaria, Moldavia, Romania, Slovakia and the Balken region. He joins from Renault Nissan Bulgaria where he held the title of sales & after sales quality zone manager for Renault & Dacia South Bulgaria, before which he was sales & after sales zone manager for Nissan.

Paczkowski has a joint remit to promote all Giti’s European brands and products throughout the whole East European region, developing retail, product, promotional and media strategies, as well as researching and establishing GT Radial retail network programmes with key distribution partners. He previously worked for Pirelli Polska where he was key account manager for car dealers channel & motorsport, prior to which he was marketing and product specialist.

Yonov will be located in Sofia, Bulgaria and Paczkowski in Warsaw, Poland. Both report directly to general manager for Eastern Europe, Robert Koutny.

Koutny said: “It has been over two years since Giti entered the Eastern European markets, and since that time we have been making significant inroads with the establishment of GT Radial, Primewell and Runway across both passenger car and light truck (PCR) and heavy truck and bus (TBR) product ranges.

“The infrastructure is in place and sales are starting to really gain momentum, so much so that the time is right to build the team with two vitally important strategic positions. Both Ivo and Andrzej bring a wealth of local and product experience, and they will prove invaluable as we enter our next phase of growth.”
