Terry Rymer joins GTC Motorcycle

The new GTC Motorcycle business will be headed up by Terry Rymer, the ex-double World Champion

Guildford Tyre Company has announced that the company will launch GTC Motorcycle this April. The new business will be headed up by Terry Rymer, the ex-double World Champion. Rymer joins GTC Motorcycle with a lifetime of experience in the motorcycle industry.  In his role of business development manager, he will use his contacts to increase tyres sales as a regional wholesaler, as well as increasing the retail business.

Terry Rymer retired from bike racing in 1999 after winning his second World Championship but has remained in the industry working as a TV commentator, as an agent for Pirelli Metzeler and for Moto Direct. Rymer became British Superbike Champion (BSB) in 1990 and European Superbike Champion in 1993 before concentrating on the World Superbike and Endurance Championships. GTC Motorcycle’s aim is to put the fun back into this exciting lifestyle hobby by utilising Terry’s phenomenal racing pedigree and industry knowledge.  He will also organise track days, ride outs, race tuition and customer visits behind the scenes at the BSB rounds.

GTC Motorcycle is also moving back to its purpose-built bike depot at 97 New Road, Chilworth. This is planned for April, the week leading up to Easter. Since opening its first motorcycle-only branch at Slyfield Green back in 1998, Guildford Tyre Company has positioned itself as Surrey’s premier motorcycle tyre supplier.  Having moved to their Head Office site from Chilworth in 2009, the plan is to return to the unique atmosphere of an independent bike service centre.

“Knowing that bike enthusiasts desire the very best in customer service, GTC Motorcycle aim to go one better. We also hope to enhance our reputation of being a regional wholesaler of motorcycle tyres. Our customers, including Vines BMW, Destination Triumph, Woking Yamaha, Hatfields and Snells, to name a few, all benefit from their comprehensive range of stock and great availability,” company representatives said in a statement.
