The original equipment supply relationship between Hankook Tire and truck trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull AG has been extended by the signing of an agreement said to detail the two companies’ further long-term cooperation. According to the terms of this agreement, Hankook’s original equipment business with Schmitz Cargobull will initially concentrate on the European market. Nine 19.5 and 22.5 inch trailer sizes from the e-cube range, including the new 455/40 R 22.5 e-cube MAX, and the SmartWork range will be supplied to the trailer manufacturer.

“In addition to the use of our modern truck tyres by globally leading truck manufacturers as original equipment, the expansion of our cooperation with Schmitz Cargobull AG is further proof of the recognition of our high product quality and innovative strength. It will give us a further boost for the expansion of our pan-European activities in this segment,” commented Ho-Youl Pae, Hankook Tire COO for Europe. Dietmar Olbrich, Hankook’s vice-president of marketing and sales for the German-speaking markets, added: “We are extremely pleased to be intensifying our cooperation even further and are proud of the fact that our tyres and services meet the requirements of the market leader in terms of performance, efficiency and sustainability.”

“The further extension of the strategic partnership with Hankook as our tyre partner is the right logical step for us, since Hankook’s strategy effectively supplements the SCB strategy,” stated Bernhard Schmitz, managing partner at Schmitz Cargobull AG. The trailer manufacturer’s head of tyre business development, Alain Versace, also commented that “we feel that the long-term cooperation with Hankook will support our premium products so that we can deliver optimum transport solutions to our customers in future, too.”
