French, German and Italian laboratories pool resources in ERRLAB initiative

Representatives of the three associations and three laboratories as well as ETRMA secretary general were present for the signing

On 26 January the LRCCP, DIK and CERISIE rubber laboratories from France, Germany and Italy respectively signed up to the ERRLAB – an informal network rubber research and testing in rubber facilities. As a result of the move more than 100 highly rubber specialized doctors, engineers and technicians are committed to the project.

ERRLAB’s objective is to share resources and expertise in order to provide an “ever-better and complete technical service to the European rubber manufacturing industry, with a special attention to small and medium enterprises, in the field of Environment, Health and Safety studies, Research & Development, testing and certification.”

The initiative has been established with the support of their respective national rubber associations (SNCP, WDK and Assogomma respectively) as well as the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA).

“This is the first step in giving the rubber industry the technical means to anticipate and tackle some of the future regulatory challenges”, said Fazilet Cinaralp, secretary general of ETRMA during the signing ceremony.

In short the three laboratories and three national associations have agreed to work together as one European organization.
