Giti Tire’s Michael Kaletta dies

Giti Tire’s Michael Kaletta (45) has died suddenly, following a heart attack on Friday 26 September. A small private ceremony attended by family, friends and many of his colleagues was held on 2 October. The company described itself as shocked and saddened by Kaletta’s untimely passing.

Richard Lyons, managing director – Europe, stated: “At the outset our thoughts are with his family and friends, we are doing everything in our power to support them during this terrible time. He was a very, very popular member of the team, and we are also supporting our staff, who remain distressed by the news.”

Kaletta, who held the position of national sales and marketing director for Truck and Bus Tires from 2009, had worked in the tyre industry more than 20 years and also held positions with Kuhmo and Reifen Wagner.

“Since first meeting Michael in 2009 he proved himself to be an honourable, friendly, hard-working man who enjoyed his job and loved his family,” added Richard. “He will be sorely missed by all those who have had the pleasure to have known him during his lifetime, and we and his family ask that he is remembered as the principled and kind man he truly was.”
