Children’s ‘Despicable’ movie choice – Micheldever/Protyre

Despicable Me 2 Minions The Minions of Despicable Me 2 are the film characters most likely to keep children entertained in the back of the car, according to the Micheldever/Protyre survey

A Micheldever/Protyre survey has confirmed children’s despicable taste in movies. Asked for their favourite film of the summer, Despicable Me 2 beat Frozen and How to Train your Dragon to first place. The survey draws attention to the need to keep children happy in the back of cars on family holidays, with portable video players an increasingly popular method of doing so. The survey, conducted by online research company, Beautiful* Insights, was taken last week by 1,500 respondents.

Despicable Me 2 won 40 per cent of the vote, with Frozen (30 per cent) and How to Train your Dragon (29 per cent) following close behind. In a separate question 50 per cent of motorists would listen to the radio when driving on holiday and 35 per cent would listen to music on an in-car CD player.

“Keeping children happy in the back of a car is important and has safety implications,” said Micheldever’s marketing manager, Phil Pickering. “Noisy or disruptive children can distract a driver, which might have serious road safety consequences. Keeping in a safe condition is also a priority and with tyres one of the most neglected components on a car, we are offering drivers a free summer tyre safety check at all of our 64 centres around the UK.”
