Nokian introduces 2 new Hakkapeliitta Truck D sizes

2014 marks the 80^th anniversary of the Nokian Kelirengas winter truck tyre, and the manufacturer has introduced two new sizes of its latest winter TBR model, the Hakkapeliitta Truck D. In addition to the existing size of 315/80R22.5, the sizes 295/80R22.5 and 315/70R22.5 will be available at the end of the summer of 2014.

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D is intended for demanding use on main roads, bearing the Alpine symbol indicating official winter tyre approval.

“Our patented twin-block pattern ensures optimal grip and precise driving response even under extreme conditions,” says Teppo Siltanen, product manager for truck tyres at Nokian Heavy Tyres, “The effective support of the tread blocks allows for deep sipes, providing the best possible grip without compromising the driving stability highly valued by drivers. The deep 3D siping of the Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck D allows it to maintain its grip as the tyre wears down.”

The Hakkapeliitta Truck D is also designed to save fuel, with low rolling resistance one of its characteristics. Noise has been reduced in the tyre too, with optimised block distribution making it up to 3dB lower than in its predecessor.
