New managing director at Euro-Tyre

Pon Tyre Group has appointed Frits de Raad as managing director of Euro-Tyre. He will take up the position on 22 April 2014. De Raad succeeds Frank van Leeuwen, who has decided to pursue his career outside the Group, Pon stated.

De Raad joined the Pon Tyre Group in 2011, having begun his career with Pon in 2001 at MAN Nederland and AVC/MCC. During this period he gained extensive experience in various roles including sales, marketing, dealer network development and project management. Before then his career started with Campina Melkunie in 1990, from which he moved to Nestlé to perform various management functions. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Groningen University.

Pon stated: “Frits will be leading the further growth of Euro-Tyre, distributor in Europe of Infinity and other reputable tyre brands. Key herein is a wide product range, excellent availability, a well distribution network and reliability.”

Summing up the former MD’s 20 year career at the company, Pon said that van Leeuwen “has contributed to the enormous growth of Euro-Tyre. From 2010 Frank had a crucial role in the integration of Euro-Tyre within Pon Tyre Group. The company is thankful for his dedication and commitment.”
