Maxam Tire personnel have recently returned from the USA, where the company took part in the Conexpo exhibition, held from 4-8 March in Las Vegas.

Conexpo is one or the world’s premier shows for the construction, mining and earthmoving sectors, held once every three years and attracting over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 125,000 visitors over the five days of the show. The Maxam stand was 164 m2 (1800 sq. ft) in area and on show were 10 of the extensive ranges of Maxam construction and radial OTR tyres.

The Maxam stand was in a prime position and the near neighbours read like a Who’s Who of construction equipment manufacturing aristocracy, with such famous names as Bobcat, Caterpillar, JCB, Liebherr and Volvo.

Maxam flew out a team of technical and marketing experts to man the stand during the show, including CEO Ian Thomas, operations manager Federico Fiorini, sales manager North America Tim Good, sales manager Europe Kevin Buckley and marketing coordinator Anne-Gaëlle Halter, who organised Maxam’s participation in the event.

Said Ian Thomas: “It was a hectic but enjoyable five days and a very successful show for Maxam with some promising leads and enquiries. Our policy of having a presence at major international exhibitions around the world means that the Maxam name and range of products is becoming well known in our target sectors.”

It was not all hard work, however, as before the exhibition started, Maxam laid on a golf day for selected clients and customers at TPC Las Vegas. 20 players took part in five teams and, alongside the golf there were drink stations on the course and a cookout dinner. The winning team received gift vouchers to spend in the TPC Gift Shop.

Tim Good explained the thinking behind the golf day, saying: “We like to spend time with our valued customers – not only from a business perspective, but as a ‘thank you’ for choosing Maxam tyres.”
