Autopart Tyres helps Darcy’s get off the ground

MAM Software reports that its MAM Autopart Tyres has helped Darcy’s of Durham get its business up and running. With in-built point of sale functionality, Autopart Tyres gives Darcy’s access to extensive features such as labour allocation, parts look up, and technical data. Darcy’s can also keep in touch with its customers by SMS and email, which reduces the cost of postage and paper. The cloud-hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) approach allows the company to spread server license fees through monthly payments.

A recently established independently owned tyre and auto centre based in Durham, Darcy’s provides a range of winter and summer tyres and is committed to providing excellent customer service in its local area. The company also provides vehicle servicing, MoTs and exhaust and battery parts. Ben Darcy founded the business after 12 years working for the region’s largest independent tyre and autocare business, North Eastern Tyres, latterly as sales director.

“After carefully researching a number of software providers, we decided to go with MAM, as they were able to provide us with a management solution that would allow us to derive the maximum potential from our business,” said Ben Darcy, adding: “With a focus on customer service, Autopart Tyres allows us to optimise communication at the point of sale. Plus, the SaaS solution offers us the security of remote data backups, along with automatic and regular software updates.”

The point of sale screen allows Darcy’s to deal with customer requests efficiently, with instant access to correct tyre sizes and type fitment with recommended pressures. Labour allocation is made simple with in-built manufacturer-recommended repair times. Parts can be sourced using the system’s intelligent ordering capabilities to accurately calculate job pricing.

SMS text messages can be used to send tyre replacement, MoT and service reminders directly to customers from the system. Autopart Tyres can also email pdf documents such as statements, invoices and estimates. These features not only enhance customer service, they reduce the cost of postage and paper. By choosing the cloud-hosted SaaS approach, Darcy’s initial investment was minimised, eliminating the need to purchase and maintain its own server infrastructure. The company’s data is securely and regularly backed-up remotely, and it will receive automatic software updates as often as necessary. Plus, cloud-hosting provides the perfect scalable platform to support future growth.

“We were delighted to be chosen as Darcy’s software provider for their new business venture” said Malcolm Hazard, Senior Sales Manager – Tyres at MAM Software. He continued: “As a fully integrated solution, Autopart Tyres provides Darcy’s with all the functionality needed to efficiently handle all areas of their business with the potential to open up other markets and revenue streams if required”.
