Dunlop previews 2014 BTCC line-up at Autosport

Having signed an extension to the tyre supply deal that begun in 2003 at the end of last season, Dunlop has kicked off its 2014 motorsport season by exhibiting in conjunction with the MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham. The multi-year contract means that Dunlop will continue to supply all of the teams with Sport Maxx soft, medium and hard compounds as well as BluResponse wet tyres, and its Autosport stand reflects the role its tyres play in contributing to the excitement of the series.

Dunlop’s stand displays an array of BTCC cars, with Andrew Jordan’s championship winning vehicle as the centrepiece, alongside exclusive insights into the 2014 season. As part of this activity, a number of the race teams are taking the opportunity to launch their 2014 livery.

“We’re really pleased to be returning to Autosport International this year with the BTCC”, commented Andy Marfleet, Dunlop’s brand manager, before the event, “particularly following our announcement of an extended partnership with one of the most important championships in Europe. Although the sole-supplier partnership began with BTCC in 2003, Dunlop has been actively involved in the championship since 1958.”

“We at Dunlop are passionate about innovation. We demonstrated that at the BTCC last year with the launch of the soft option tyre, which must be used in one race at each race weekend. The introduction has added a new strategic element which has been well received by fans and teams… Just ask them yourself during the driver signings on our stand during the spectator days!”
