Michelin launches traction retread in USA

In North America, Michelin Retread Technologies has introduced an all weather traction retread, optimised for severe winter conditions. The Michelin XDS 2 Pre-Mold drive tyre retread, according to the company, can provide a 10 per cent improvement in tread life over the XDS Pre-Mold.

The XDS 2 Pre-Mold, with 25/32″ of tread depth, features sipes with zigzag groove walls, along with V-shaped transverse shoulder grooves for traction, an engineered tread compound for wear resistance in high scrub applications, a wide contact patch for force distribution, and a directional tread that reduces heel/toe wear.
