Voith Industrial Services has appointed Jack Callaghan in a bid to further expand the company’s business in wheel and tyre assembly operations throughout the UK and mainland Europe. Callaghan, who has more than 20 years’ experience in wheel and tyre operations in the automotive sector, has been appointed business development manager based at Voith Industrial Services’ UK headquarters in Warwick.
Voith Industrial Services offers services including facility management, in-bound logistics, just-in-time sequenced lineside deliveries, component assembly and warehouse management. The company is also the world leader in the technical cleaning of car plants’ paint shops and has over 60 contracts worldwide. Voith Industrial Services has been carrying out technical cleaning for major automotive manufacturers in the UK for several years.
Voith already supplies Peugeot with wheel and tyre assembly operations from a plant in Slovakia, and runs similar operations in the UK from facilities in Coventry and Ellesmere Port.
“With Jack’s appointment we now have even greater expertise in the automotive industry. He will be focussing on expanding our business in this specialist area of wheel and tyre operations,” said managing director, Ian Collier.
Jack Callaghan started his career in retail management with John Lewis and later spent eight years as national sales manager for a motor accessories company. After 10 years as sales manager with Kent-based Alloy Wheels International he moved to ATS Wheels in 2000.
He spent five years in Germany as sales manager European sales operations and a further six years as sales director for North American operations based in Auburn, Alabama.
In the UK Voith Industrial Services has 750 employees and a turnover of 33 million euros. Its services include facility management, technical cleaning, wheel and tyre assembly and managed processes.
